This home in West Chester, PA was experiencing active water infiltration, and our team was hired to diagnose the source of the leak and provide a long term solution. After a detailed inspection, we identified the failure point and presented the homeowner with a clear explanation and a comprehensive repair plan.
The issue traced back to the existing roof and flashing system. We removed the failing roofing materials and installed a new CertainTeed Integrity Roof System to restore proper protection. To ensure a fully watertight exterior, we also removed the siding and aluminum capping for full access to the underlying structure.
Once opened, we found significant deterioration caused by improper pitch below the window and inadequate flashing details. All damaged sheathing was removed and replaced, and new framing was added beneath the window to create positive drainage and prevent future water intrusion.
With the structural repairs completed, we installed new flashings and underlayment in preparation for a complete roof replacement.
CertainTeed Landmark Pro Weathered Wood asphalt shingles were installed for enhanced durability and curb appeal. All windows were properly flashed prior to receiving new aluminum capping. Heavy gauge aluminum was custom bent, backed with ice and water shield, then fitted over the newly pitched framing to ensure long term moisture protection.
After finalizing the waterproofing improvements, the siding was carefully reinstalled to complete the project. A fully restored, watertight exterior and another satisfied customer!
