Final result of stucco remediation on this gorgeous home located in West Chester, Pennsylvania

We performed stucco remediation on this gorgeous home located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Our team installed James Hardie smooth beaded fiber cement siding with AZEK transitions and outside corner posts.  The siding color used on the home was Navajo Beige which compliments the stonework and beautiful landscape.

During demolition and preparation for this project, we were diligent and installed protection to minimize any damage that might occur. This specific customer did not want to replace the windows so we were sure to overprotect them so there was no damage. Heavy-duty tarps were used to protect the shrubbery, trees, plantings, and lawn.

After the stucco was removed, we performed a thorough inspection of the existing sheathing and framing for any rot or things out of the ordinary. The homeowners were made aware of all items discovered and the necessary repairs were made. Tyvek window flashing tape with an aluminum drip cap was installed around all home window and door openings. Kickout water diverters were installed at all points where the gutter meets the siding. AZEK transitions were installed on all sections where the siding meets the roof lines as well as grade, decking, and inside corners. James Hardie HardieWrap vapor barrier was installed over all siding areas to allow the house to breathe properly. Pre-made AZEK corners post were installed on all outside corners.

Upon completion of the flashing details, HardieWrap and PVC details, the color hits the wall. The James Hardie siding install began and the homeowner loved it! James Hardie has “best practices” installation methods they recommend for their products. Their best practices reference product clearance requirements, sealing of non-factory edges, flashing details, product storage and much more. We are always sure to meet or exceed their best practices during all our siding installations.

Our client picked the perfect color that tied in the stonework and gorgeous landscape. From start to finish this project was exciting to see come together. We really enjoyed working with our client and everyone involved is very happy with the results!

This is a short video of the front sections of the home. Please note the complimentary color with the stonework and the landscape. Everyone was pleased with how it turned out. Beautiful!

This West Chester home had a mixture of Celotex and OSB for its sheathing. Notice the rotten sheathing on the left side of the picture. This typically is a result of improper flashing details before the stucco was applied.
